Clock change reminder on WhatsApp

The clocks change overnight, and you show up an hour early, or late, for Sunday plans.

How to set it on WhatsApp

Message RememberMyTask on WhatsApp with the date for where you live: “Remind me on November 1 at 8pm, clocks go back tonight”. It arrives the evening before so you can set the oven and car clocks. The US and Europe change on different dates, so check your local date first.

Questions

When do the clocks change?

It varies by country. In recent years the US has changed on the second Sunday in March and first Sunday in November, while the UK and EU change on the last Sunday in March and October. Check the dates where you live, as rules can change.

Does my phone change by itself?

Phones and most connected devices update automatically. Car dashboards, ovens, microwaves and older wall clocks usually do not.

Can I set it to repeat every year?

The date moves each year, so a one-off reminder for each change is more reliable. Set the next one right after the current change.

Do my RememberMyTask reminders shift with the clocks?

Reminders follow the time zone you set, so a 9am reminder stays at 9am local time after the change.
